What is the CHRIST Law Entrance Exam?

The CHRIST University Law Entrance Exam (CULEE) is an all-India admission test conducted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University) for admission into its prestigious 5-year integrated law programmes: BA LL.B. (Hons.) and BBA LL.B. (Hons.).

Unlike many other private law colleges that rely solely on CLAT scores, CHRIST University conducts its own rigorous, multi-stage selection process. The university believes that a successful lawyer needs more than just theoretical knowledge—they need exceptional communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to articulate thoughts under pressure.

This is why the entrance exam is only the first step. It is immediately followed by a unique Micro Presentation (MP) round and an intensive Personal Interview (PI), ensuring only the most well-rounded and capable students make the final cut.

Rich History

Established in 1969, CHRIST University is one of India's oldest and most respected educational institutions.

Top Rankings

Consistently ranked among the top 10 private law colleges in India by major educational surveys.

Educational Qualification

Minimum Marks Requirement

A minimum of 45% marks in the 10+2 examination is mandatory. (Note: Due to high competition, aim for much higher).

Final Year Students

Students appearing for their Class 12 board examinations in the current academic year (March-May) are eligible to apply.

Age Limit

As per the recent guidelines by the BCI (Bar Council of India), there is generally no upper age limit for applying to integrated law programmes.

Important Note: Meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee admission. Admission is strictly based on the composite score obtained in the CULEE, Micro Presentation (MP), Personal Interview (PI), and past academic performance.

The Complete Admission Process

Unlike other exams that rely entirely on a single written test, CHRIST evaluates the whole candidate.

Online Application

Fill out the detailed application form on the official CHRIST University portal and pay the application fee.

Appear for the 120-minute, 120-mark objective entrance examination. This tests your English, GK, Reasoning, Data Analysis, and Current Affairs.

Micro Presentation (MP)

If shortlisted, deliver an impromptu 90-second speech on a given topic before a panel to test communication and confidence.

Personal Interview (PI)

A one-on-one session with faculty assessing your personality, academic clarity, legal aptitude, and motivation to join CHRIST.

Final Merit List

The final selection considers your Entrance Test score, MP score, PI performance, and past academic records (Class 10 & 11/12).

Complete Syllabus Breakdown

While CHRIST does not publish a rigid syllabus, past trends indicate the following topics carry the maximum weightage.

Crucial Round

Micro Presentation (MP) Master Guide

The Micro Presentation is arguably the most unique and challenging aspect of the CHRIST Law selection process. It tests your ability to think on your feet, structure your thoughts quickly, and present confidently.

What is the MP Process?

  • Topic Allocation: You are given a topic by the interview panel.

  • Preparation Time: You get approximately 20 to 30 seconds to gather your thoughts.

  • Speaking Time: You must speak continuously for exactly 90 seconds.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Clarity of Thought: How well you structure your presentation (Introduction, Body, Conclusion).

  • Communication Skills: Vocabulary, fluency, and the absence of filler words (like "umm" or "like").

  • Confidence & Body Language: Eye contact with panellists, posture, and voice modulation.

Common MP Topics

Topics can range from current affairs to abstract philosophical concepts. Be prepared for anything.

Current Affairs & Tech

  • • Artificial Intelligence & Law
  • • Deepfakes and Data Privacy
  • • One Nation, One Election
  • • Climate Change agreements

Social & Abstract

  • • Women in the Judiciary
  • • Is Social Media making us lonely?
  • • "Hard work vs Smart work"
  • • The qualities of a good leader

ResultPrep Pro Tip

Do not stop speaking if you run out of points. If you don't know much about the topic, speak on a closely related subject, or express why the topic is complex. The panel is evaluating your communication and confidence, not just your factual knowledge. Practice speaking in front of a mirror for exactly 90 seconds daily to master the timing.

Final Hurdle

Personal Interview (PI) Master Guide

The Personal Interview evaluates your personality, clarity of thought, and motivation to join CHRIST University. The panel is looking for authentic, confident, and well-read individuals.

The Interview Process

1

Duration & Setting

The PI usually lasts about 10-15 minutes and is conducted by a panel of 2-3 university professors. It happens almost immediately after your Micro Presentation.

2

The Introduction

"Tell me about yourself" is the most critical question. A strong 60-second introduction that highlights your academics, hobbies, and motivation to study law sets the tone for the entire interview.

3

Honesty is Key

If you do not know the answer to a factual question, it is always better to say "I am not aware of this, but I will read up on it," rather than guessing or arguing with the panel.

75+ Probable PI Questions

We have categorized the most frequently asked questions during the CHRIST Law PI. Prepare your answers for these before the actual day.

Personal & HR Questions

  • Introduce yourself in 60 seconds.
  • What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?

  • Describe a challenge you faced and how you overcame it.

Motivation & Law

  • Why do you want to pursue a career in Law?
  • Why did you choose CHRIST University specifically?
  • Why BA LL.B. instead of BBA LL.B. (or vice versa)?
  • Who is your role model in the legal profession?

Academic & Legal Aptitude

  • What is your favourite subject in high school and why?
  • Explain the Preamble of the Indian Constitution.
  • What is the difference between Fundamental Rights and Directive Principles?
  • Mention one recent landmark Supreme Court judgment.

Current Affairs & Opinions

  • What is your opinion on the Uniform Civil Code?
  • Discuss the recent changes in India's criminal laws (BNS, BNSS, BSA).
  • How is AI impacting the legal profession?
